It’s hard to believe that we’re into 2023 already, isn’t it? I’m still feeling a bit like we haven’t completely processed 2020!
The past year has been quite a roller-coaster, but we’re still here and we’re still fighting. Aye, things are a little rough around the edges, but we’ll get through it all. Keep on keeping on, friends.
For today, I have a handful of Happy New Year postcards that may tickle your fancy. Shall we?
Exactly one-hundred-odd years ago, someone started to make a Christmas postcard and was informed halfway through that their assignment was actually for the New Year. Well, good thing they never started on the contents of that parchment, aye?
I suppose the case could be made for the poinsettias representing the end of the month of December, and the parchment being very obviously ringing in the start of the new year, but I like my explanation better.
I like to keep rips, tears, and creases in some images because they add interest—and texture. Delicious, delicious texture.
Lily of the valley spilling from a bird’s nest as the bird in question looks on. This is the sort of postcard that kick-started my interest! Beautiful. You can find this design on my RedBubble store.
Happy 2023, everyone, and most importantly…
