SS Medusa Challenger Medusa Cement Company Postcard

This is an oddly-sized postcard at 9″ x 4″ which shows off the Medusa Challenger of Medusa Cement Company in Cleveland, Ohio.

SS Medusa Challenger started her life as William P. Snyder in 1906 and was converted to a cement carrier in 1966. In 2005, St. Marys Cement Inc. of Toronto purchased the old steamer and named her St. Marys Challenger.

She was cut down into an articulated lake barge in 2013 and continues to haul powdered cement for Sand Products Corporation, which is contracted by St. Marys of Toronto for that purpose.
