Happy Valentine’s Day! … If that’s your thing. If not, you can skip this one, I won’t be upset. I promise. Honest.
Today’s post has a mix of mid-century and antique pieces, elements and full cards. Valentine’s Day imagery is pretty consistent: there are hearts, sometimes there are couples. You’ll occasionally find something that’s really weird—especially if you get your hands on anything Victorian—because the world of old postcards is… magical.
This fella is working very, very hard.
We don’t know if Ernest ever received an answer to his question, but we do have the evidence that he asked his sweetheart!

This lady is so cute that I had to separate her out from the card she was in and give you all the chance to put her in things that might make her happier. She just doesn’t look very keen on what she’s doing! If you decide to play with giving her some new surroundings I beg of you to show me what you’ve done.
I’d really like to redraw her. Eventually. I’ll find some time, maybe (gross sobbing goes here).



Anyway, some hearts. The original is the greenish-blue, the other two are a quick adjustment.
This boy is going to drum his way into somebody’s heart.
Lastly, but certainly not least, this lady watering heart-flowers is from an antique card. She’s very cute, too!
